The AfrAsia Bank Cape Wine Auction, held 12 and 13 February 2016, was an exhilarating global showcase of South Africa’s finest wines and a fundraiser to channel the money raised into an area that needs it most; education. Governed by a Board of Trustees and audited by PWC, The AfrAsia Bank Cape Wine Auction maintains complete transparency and ensures the sustainability of the projects we support.

De Toren is a founder member of this fundraiser and has been on the organising committee from Day One.

This year’s Lot was a commissioned piece of art from world renowned Swedish artist, Clas Hakansson and is the first

time that the artist has integrated a crystal bottle into a painting. The glass bottle was created by the artist and produced e by world famous glass producer, Kosta Boda of The Kingdom of Crystal, Sweden.

Included in the Lot is a two night stay in the Hotel de Vougeot, a boutique hotel in Cote de Nuits, Burgundy, a personal tasting for two people at Domaine Bertagne and a magnum of Premier Cru, 2009, Vougeot Clos de la Perriere 1er Cru Monopole and 2009 Nuits St Georges Les Murgers 1er Cru. The unique experience of blending your own De Toren Fusion V and 60 bottles of your personalised blend with a personalised label.

This Lot raised R 400 000 for the charity and took the total funds we have raised to R 1 million over 3 years.
