No doubt, everyone around the world is happy to see the back of a very challenging 2020. The obstacles COVID-19 has brought to individuals, businesses and countries has been immense. But, it has brought out the best in humanity, encouraging us to reach out to each other within our communities, also across international borders and somehow it managed to close the (continental) gap even a little more. It has also acted as a catalyst to force us to re-evaluate, rebuild, reform and very importantly, reinvent. To move on from the old and to truly embrace the new. At De Toren we’ve faced our share of challenges too, but have embraced this time in history to ‘reinvent’ ourselves with the aim being to see how we can build on or further improve the estate and the experiences we offer you, both locally and internationally, as we head into a new decade.
For those of you who follow us on our social media channels (thank you), you may have noticed just how hard at work we’ve been on the estate, not just to further evolve our farming methods to officially receive our organic certification, but also to pave the road leading into the estate, plant new indigenous gardens and of course, fully renovate the Manor House. We are tremendously excited to welcome you to the revamped estate in the new year.
For the first time in our proud 22-year history, we’ll be able to welcome you into the Manor House itself for a range of new experiences. Decked out with a wine bar, the luxurious Tasting Lounge will be the perfect place to recline in understated luxe to enjoy our legendary wine tastings. You’ll also have the choice to sit in comfort on one of the gorgeous new patios to enjoy either an ocean facing vista or sunny views around the pool and garden.
For businesses looking to reboot in 2021, our new boardroom experience offers the same gorgeous views onto the pool and garden, acting as the perfect springboard to inspire your team to greater heights in the new year. For smaller teams this is an idyllic breakaway space from busy city life. We plan to provide fully catered food experiences and you can top off your day out with a well-deserved wine tasting of our award-winning Bordeaux-style wine collection.
The new year will also usher in our new-look and an evolution of our logo and brand to align it more closely to the true roots of this special part of the world and our rich heritage. For those who suffer from FOMO (fear of missing out), never fear when De Toren is near! We have just completed a photo and video shoot which will allow us to share all these new updates and experiences with you via our new website and updated social channels where we intend to bring as much of the estate to you, wherever in the world you may be. For those residing closer to Stellenbosch and this special ocean facing hilltop, we look forward to welcoming you to our new home soon.
